Dubai, UAE, 13 January 2015: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received in his office, Stuart Gulliver, the Chief Executive of HSBC Group, along with senior representatives of HSBC including Samir Assaf, CEO Global Banking & Markets, Sherard Cowper Coles, Senior Adviser to the Group Chairman and Group Chief Executive, Mohammad Al Tuwaijri, Deputy Chairman & CEO MENA, and Abdulfattah Sharaf, CEO of HSBC in the UAE. The meeting was also attended by Abdul Nasser Abbas, Senior Director Treasury from DEWA.

Al Tayer welcomed the delegation and emphasised the importance of enhancing collaboration with financial and banking institutions. He praised the strong relations between DEWA and HSBC on different projects including the primary role of HSBC in providing banking and financial consultancy for DEWA's IPP Hassyan Clean Coal Power Plant project as well as other consultancy, banking, investment and finance services.

Al Tayer provided an overview of DEWA's current and future plans and its vital projects such as phase two of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hassyan Clean Coal Power Plant project, and the Jebel Ali M-station extension project. He stated that DEWA spares no efforts in enhancing and developing close collaboration with all its partners in line with Dubai's strategy to ensure the benefit of all concerned parties and achieve common interests while supporting the sustainable development of Dubai.

The HSBC delegation presented an overview of the Group's services portfolio and its main investment projects in the region.

They thanked Al Tayer for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest.
