Libya Approves More Than $52.4 Billion State Budget For 2012


Tripoli - The Libyan Transitional Council has approved recently a state budget of more than US$52.4 billion of the interim government for the fiscal year 2012.
A spokesman for the Council Mohammed Al-Harizi said the Council will announce on Monday, details on the budget allocations and provisions.
The largest share of the budget will be reserved for paying salaries to state employees, which are estimated in the range of $ 20 billion. Other allocations worth $ 12 billion will support sectors of food commodities, electricity and fuel and the rest of the approved amount will be spent on other vital sectors.
