Lamela Arch to design Bank Sohar's new HQ
MUSCAT -- Bank Sohar in its quest to achieve further success and excellence recently appointed Lamela Architect, a Spanish architectural firm to design its new Head Office, which is planned to be built in Airports Heights, Seeb.The signing ceremony took place at the bank's existing Head Office located in CBD area in the presence of Shaikh Dr Salim Said al Fannah al Araimi, Chairman of Bank Sohar and Carlos Lamela, CEO, Lamela Architect.
The project of constructing the main building comes within the framework of the bank's implementation of strategies and its future vision that always aspires for the best and uniqueness. The new building will enable the bank to provide exemplary services to the Omani society and also to the public and private sectors.
Dr Al Araimi said, "The architectural design of the headquarters building is inspired by the principle of excellence that has become part of the identity of the bank. The design is a combination of modernity, globalism and the Omani architecture which is very much inherent in its embodiment of the Sultanate's long history and its modern renaissance. The architected concept was inspired from Sohar city a developing commercial city with a history of trade and for its strategic location within the sultanate.
The new headquarters will enable us to provide the best services to our customers by using cutting edge technologies. In addition, it will create and provide an ideal working environment to our employees."
On his part, Carlos Lamela said, "We would like to thank Bank Sohar for the confidence reposed in us to make us part of this huge project, which will feature the latest advanced technology, in accordance with the international standards that will work on creating an appropriate environment. The Bank is keen to apply the criteria that will make this building environmentally friendly with appropriate specifications, in order to achieve efficiency and conservation in energy and also embed recycling process to be eco-friendly."
