Kuwait donates USD 4 mln to Chad to tackle food crisis
KUWAIT, May 30 (KUNA) -- In response to its food crisis, the state-founded Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has donated USD 4 million to Chad aimed at increasing food production as part of a fund, which supports generous living standards in Islamic nations. The amount will be used in encouraging small-sized projects aimed at producing food, and all matters related to it like farming, storage and marketing, among others. The 'generous lifestyle fund for Islamic nations' was founded, according to an initiative, by the HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during the Fourth World Islamic Economic Forum held in Kuwait in 2008. The fund was equipped with USD 100 million from Kuwait aimed at achieving food security in Islamic countries.© Copyright Zawya. All Rights Reserved.
