KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) intends to establish three new residential cities for expatriate workers at an estimated cost of KD 40 million each, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.
Sources disclosed these residential cities will be constructed in the southern part of the Municipality scrapyard, West Al-Hajaj City and North Abdullah Port. Sources confirmed the ministry will refer the projects to the Technical Committee for further study and to take the necessary steps for implementation according to the BOT system before the end of this year.
Sources said the three cities can accommodate 25,000 people and each city will include apartments for expatriates, mosques, administrative buildings, security and medical centers, indicating the total land area measures 100,000 square meters.
In another development, sources added the ministry has completed the Laborers City project in Subhan, which will be handed over to its finance counterpart soon for supervision through the General Utilities Department.
