KFG posts KD 3.5m profit
KUWAIT CITY: The Board of Directors of Kout Food Group (KFG) met on July 31, 2007 and adopted the interim financial statements of the company for the periods that ended on June 30, 2007. Second quarter profits for this year amounted to KD1,860,203 with the earnings per share valued at 28 Kuwaiti fils compared to KD 1,695,091 with the profit per share valued at 26 Kuwaiti fils gained over the same period in 2006.
Profits posted for the first six months of this year amounted to KD 3,518,507 with the profitability of each share valued at 53 Kuwaiti fils compared to KD 3,173,311 with per share valued at 48 Kuwaiti fils earned within the same period in 2006. KFG, a leading diversified food group company in the State of Kuwait, is in the process of applying and obtaining clearance to list on the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE). Through its subsidiaries, the company operates the franchises of Pizza Hut, Burger King and Applebee's, some of the most internationally recognizable fast-food and casual dining brands, as well as Burj Al-Hamam and Kabab-ji, two well recognized regional brands.

The Board of Directors of United Projects Group (UPAC) will meet at 1:30 pm on Aug 5, 2007 to discuss the interim financial statement of the company for the second quarter of this year ending June 30, 2007.
Shuaiba Paper Industries (Shuaiba) will hold its extraordinary general assembly meeting at 10:00 am on Aug 13, at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry building to approve the resignation of the incumbent members of its Board of Directors and elect new members.
