His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will patronise the 16th Heritage Festival to be held under the theme 'perfume and old scents'.

The event will be organised by the culture and national heritage department at the Ministry of Information from May 5 to 9 at the heritage village of the Bahrain National Museum.

The festival is in line with King Hamad's keenness to preserve Bahrain's heritage which reflects the Kingdom's deep-rooted and high-standing culture.

The festival will feature Bahraini handicraft such as pottery used to keep perfume and incense and a variety of entertainment activities for children. Al Hawaj Group is the official sponsor, in addition to the Saudi, Omani  and the UAE embassies and a number of perfume stores.
