MUSCAT -- As part of its commitment to raising awareness about healthy living through sports related events, Khimji Ramdas has announced it is supporting the Oman Sail as the Technical Support Sponsor for the Sailor of the Year. The newly launched Sailor of the Year awards event aims to honour the outstanding achievements of top sailors in the Sultanate of Oman; senior representative from KR will be awarding the Technical Support Award's winners during the ceremony event scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 14, at Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat.
Khimji Ramdas Group is also generously presenting valuable Rolex watches for the male and female overall winners. Commenting on this event, Pankaj Khimji, Director at Khimji Ramdas said "We are pleased to support the Oman Sail 'Sailor of the Year Awards', such prestigious event will help raise awareness about the importance of sports in our daily lives and encourage the citizens and residents of Oman to choose a healthier lifestyle."
He reiterated the importance of the sea in the history of the Sultanate and added "There has always been a tight relation between the sea and Oman, a tie that goes 13 centuries back to the Silk Route time." Khimji explained that KR's passion for sports is considered a key drive to success and growth; he concluded, "at KR, we consider the health and wellbeing of our people as a core corporate value."
In addition to the Khimji Ramdas Technical Support Award, there are 8 other award categories: The Individual Renaissance Services Sailor of the Year Awards (female and male), Oman Air Outstanding Male Race Team Member, Outstanding Female Race Team Member, Technogym Outstanding International Race Team, Rolls-Royce Male Development Coach of the Year, Female Development Coach of the Year and Youth Team of the Year.
