Diesel smuggling case still being probed -- KPC
KUWAIT, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Spokesman for the oil sector, Managing Director of Government and Parliamentary Relations and Public Relations and Media in the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation ( KPC ) Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah said on Thursday that KPC is still investigating the reported smuggling of diesel fuel through the Technical Committee which was formed upon the decision of KPC 's Chief Executive Officer on July 31. Sheikh Talal said in a press statement that the committee, which includes in its membership a specialized technical group is working on reviewing observations contained in the relevant reports of the Audit Bureau pertinent to procedures for the marketing, supply and distribution of diesel in the local market and evaluate internal control systems used in this regard and to ensure their effectiveness. He explained that the Committee's task is to locate flaws that may cause damage to public property and review all investigations conducted in the oil sector on the diesel product to ensure sound procedures and findings. He said the committee would submit a comprehensive report upon completion of its task, including findings and any recommendations it deems necessary concerning significant issues, indicating that the period of work of the Committee is three months from the commencement of its action which took place on August 15 and will end on November 15.Zawya Comment Policy
