Amman - Jordanian and Portuguese businessmen agreed on Monday to develop economic and trade relations between the two countries, increase trade exchange, set up joint projects and exchange visits.
During a meetings at the Amman Chamber of Industry, the two sides stressed their keenness to promote economic and trade ties between the two countries.
Jordan's exports to Portugal did not exceed $250,000 until the end of last April while imports stood at $3 million.
President of the Amman Chamber of Industry Hatim Halawani said the private sector looks forward to establishing industrial and investment partnerships and increase technical cooperation with the Bulgarian side.
He said Jordanian industrial products have reached various world markets as Jordan benefited from agreements signed with various economic blocs.
"The Jordanian private sector values partnership with EU countries which contributed to developing local industries and increasing opportunities for Jordanian products to reach various world countries, Halawani added.
