Jordan, Libya discuss closer cooperation in various fields
Tripoli - Jordan and Libya held talks in Tripoli on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh and Libya's interim Prime Minister Abdel-Rahim al-Keeb that were attended by a number of ministers and officials from both countries.
The two prime ministers stressed the need to develop relations through boosting contacts and consultation among senior officials from both countries.
Khasawneh and Al Keeb also stressed the need to enhance cooperation and relations for the interest of both countries.
Al Keeb expressed thanks and appreciation for Jordan's supportive stance towards Libya at all Arab and international forums.
The two prime ministers were briefed by Minister of Industry and Trade Sami Gammo on the outcome of bilateral meetings between ministers and officials from both countries.
Jordan and Libya also signed a memorandum of understanding for health cooperaiotn in the presence of the prime ministers of both countries.
In a joint press conference with his Libyan counterpart, Khasawneh expressed happiness for visiting Libya and voiced hope that the visit would pave the way for further cooperation between the two countries.
Khasawneh highlighted cooperation between the two countries in the health, educational and security fields, adding Jordan was ready to place its expertise at the service of the Libyan people.
The Libyan prime minister for his part said the visit of Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh to Libya reflects the strong ties between the two countries.
He said that Jordan had a very positive role in the Libyan revolution and expressed thanks and appreciation for Jordan's King, government and people for their support to the Libyan people.
Al Keeb said that both Jordan and Libya were serious in implementing all agreements that have been signed, adding the Joint Jordanian-Libyan Higher Committee will be meeting soon to discuss closer cooperation between the two countries.
