HM King Abdullah II patronized on Thursday the launching ceremony of the first phase of Marsa Zayed project in Aqaba which is a $10-billion real estate investment carried out by Al-Maabar Jordan Real Estate Development Company. The King laid the foundation stone for the project which aims to develop 3.2 million sqm plot of land to build high-rise residential towers, retail, recreational, resorts, business and financial districts and branded hotels.

The project is the biggest real estate and tourism venture to take place in the history of Jordan and expected to provide 15,000 jobs upon completion.

Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, attended the launch ceremony.
