Amman -- Jordan Aviation signed in Amman yesterday a $10 million agreement with the Government of Niger to transfer pilgrims from Niger to the Saudi city of Jeddah through the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba.
Under the agreement, which was signed by Nigerien Minister of Transport and Aviation Issa Muath and Board Chairman and CEO of Jordan Aviation Mohammad Kushman, Jordan Aviation will transfer 9,000 pilgrims from Niger to Mecca.
The Nigerien minister hailed the distinguished role of Jordan Aviation in the air transport industry, adding the agreement will pave the way for fruitful cooperation between the two sides.
During his visit to the Kingdom, the minister met with Transport Minister Sahl Majali and discussed means of boosting air transport cooperation between Jordan and Niger.
He also met with Awqaf Minister Abdul Fattah Salah and discussed facilities that could be provided to Nigerien pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia through Aqaba.
