Amman - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mashal Mohammed Zabin on Sunday discussed with his U.S counterpart, General Martin Dempsey, preparations for the joint "Eager Lion" military exercise which will take place in Jordan next May.
17 Arab and friendly countries will take part in the drill which is considered the largest in the history of the Jordanian army.
The "Eager Lion" exercise comes within the Jordan Armed Forces' training plans with armies of Arab and friendly countries to raise the efficiency of officers, noncommissioned officers and maneuvering units through qualitative and collective training of dealing with threats, terrorism and crisis.
Talks during the meeting, attended by the U.S Ambassador in Amman, also dealt with means of boosting military cooperation between the two countries' armies.
