Iraqi pays $1.3 billion to compensate Kuwait

$1.3 billion dollars was handed over to Kuwait by UN compensations committee, within a framework of new compensations according to UN resolutions.

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: $1.3 billion dollars was handed over to Kuwait by UN compensations committee, within a framework of new compensations according to UN resolutions.

The total figure received by Kuwait reached to $37.7 billion for about 1.5 million entities, including persons, governments, international organizations and states.

These compensations are deducted from Iraqi oil exports for the conquest made by the previous Iraqi regime against Kuwait.

The committee was formed in 1991 by the Security Council, which received about 3 million compensations requests.
