TEHRAN - The director of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry's economic department has said that the enemy has waged a "currency war" against the country, the Persian service of the Fars News Agency reported on Monday.

"Since last year the enemy has launched a currency war against the country in order to create problems for the country through creating currency instability and bringing down the value of national currency," the unidentified official said.

Supporting domestic production can help resolve economic problems, he added.
