Zanjan - Managing Director of Iran Power Development Company Madjid Salehi said Wednesday that the country is among the six top countries constructing compound circle power plants around the world.
Addressing inauguration ceremony of the "Soltanieh" power plant in the northwestern province of Zanjan, Salehi said all the related projects have been carried out by domestic engineers and experts.
He added that more than 66,000 power plants are currently active across the country.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the compound circle power plant in Zanjan Wednesday morning.
The "Soltanieh" power plant has a capacity of 648 megawatts.
When the power plant is operational, the province and a number of its neighboring cities are expected to face no electricity problems.
