Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry renews partnership with Oxford Business Group

Dubai: A landmark report on Dubai by the global publishing firm Oxford Business Group (OBG) will explore the emirate's drive to enhance economic ties with partners close to home and others farther afield as it continues to evolve into a global hub for trade and commerce.

The Report: Dubai 2016 will also map out the latest developments in the emirate's Expo 2020 preparations and the National Year of Innovation Strategy. Alongside the investment opportunities which the event is already producing, OBG's publication will consider the challenges that Dubai faces in ensuring that Expo 2020 evolves into a sustainable development initiative. Key topics covered will include the importance of boosting investor confidence by addressing concerns such as diversification and innovation.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research with OBG for its forthcoming publication. H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO Dubai Chamber has said that he expected the emirate's push to boost trade with its GCC peers to be a key focus of OBG's research.

"Using technology to streamline customs procedures and clearance should be integrated in a coherent way within all [Gulf] member states," Buamim said adding, "I look forward to helping Oxford Business Group chart Dubai's progress as the emirate moves towards achieving these and other goals in line with its long-term development plans."

OBG's Managing Director for the Middle East Jana Treeck said the Group's research had pinpointed the myriad changes under way across Dubai's economy, in areas that include tourism, trade, construction and infrastructure, as Expo 2020's projects begin taking shape.

"While the region remains marked by uncertainty and unrest, Dubai continues to show resilience and forward-thinking, buoyed by innovation, efficiency and stability, which has enabled it to carve a niche as a major international hub between Africa, Asia and Europe," she said. "Now in its 50th year, the Dubai Chamber is a key player in the emirate's drive to boost international trade and relay its competitive advantages on the international stage. I'm delighted that our team and our readers will continue to benefit from the Chamber's local knowledge as we begin working on our latest analysis of Dubai's fast-changing economy."
