Interiors & Buildex 2008 opens today in Muscat
The formal inauguration ceremony was attended by ministry officials, ambassadors and other diplomatic officials, the top management of participating companies, and a large number of industry professionals. The distinguished guests joined the minister as he visited all the stalls, which showcase all the requirements of the building and construction industry - ranging from air conditioning systems, paint products, interior furnishings and heavy equipment to ceramics and tiles, marble products, pipes and fittings, and many other products.
"Interiors & Buildex supports the continued growth of the building and construction industry in Oman by presenting under one roof the products now available in the local market as well as by bringing in new products that can serve their growing requirements," said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition management company in the sultanate.
The three-day exhibition will run only until March 19. The timings for Interiors & Buildex 2008 are from10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Since it is a trade exhibition, it is open only to all visitors over the age of 16.
One major highlight of Interiors & Buildex 2008 is the Turkish national pavilion, which consists of over 20 companies that are introducing their products for the first time in Oman. Among these products are space frame steel structures, security doors, welding equipment, pipes and fittings, construction tools, office furniture, rock breakers, and paint products. The strong participation of Turkish companies was facilitated by Meridyen International Fair Organization.
In addition to Turkey, other countries that are represented in the international exhibition are Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The strong presence of foreign companies in Interiors & Buildex 2008 is a clear indication of the growing interest in Oman as a major market for all types of building materials, interior furnishings and other construction supplies.
Major companies in Oman that directly serve the requirements of the building and construction industry are also participating in Interiors & Buildex 2008 to present the products and services they offer.
