Nothing beats the smell of lavender when it comes to relaxing and a bit of “you” time.

L’occitane pay homage to the emblematic flower of Provence by using its very essence in a new range of pamper products.

Lavandula Angustifolia — or true lavender — has been cleverly worked into a new lavender collection for summer.

Eau De Cologne (Dh289), a light hand cream (Dh5), body lotion (Dh45), essential oil (Dh89) — all combine the relaxing properties of lavender with the nourishing benefits of shea butter.

A new and exclusive addition for the autumn-winter 2011 season, Michael Angel drew his inspiration from abstract expressionist Mark Rothko. His entire new collection features a look book with friend and supermodel Christy Turlington Burns. “She represents the woman who is cultured, intelligent — an eccentric who has a sense of humour,” said the designer. ramadan collections

Looking for a unique treat to share with friends and family for iftar? The world of cupcakes has done it again with both Magnolia Bakery and Kitsch Cupcakes announcing Ramadan collections.

Magnolia Bakery offers the date and orange snowcap (Dh12) — a sweet nod toward the traditional use of dates during iftar, while Kitsch will have the pistachio praline, Turkish delight and last year’s favourite sticky date (Dh12 each).

“Ramadan is the month of giving and baking smiles on the faces of innocent children is the least we can do...” said Dalia Dogmoch, chief baker at Kitsch.

Magnolia Bakery is located at Bloomingdale’s Home at The Dubai Mall. Call 04-3505440. To place an order at Jumeirah and Abu Dhabi-based Kitsch call 800-CUPCAKE.
