Dubai, 6 May 2011: There is a strong need to go toward a full integration of sustainable and green technologies into buildings like automatic parking systems, green facilities management and energy saving technologies and components according to Van Tran, Head of Development and Marketing at the UAE Business Council for Sustainable Development and one of the key speakers to address the Smart Build 2011 conference to take place on 12-15 June 2011 in Dubai.

Smart Build speakers and advisors from Building SMART MENA & India, AECOM and the UAE Business Council for Sustainable Development share their perspectives on green technology integration and will give an expert view of resource efficiency, sustainable and future proofed building services.

Gerald Stewart, Practice Lead Acoustics of AECOM-Middle East, added 'Building acoustics are being asked to be more sustainable and quieter, these two typically don't meet as an environmental issue with using more natural ventilation, causes more holes in the façade, which gives rise to more noise. We are often tasked with providing solutions to increasingly impractical designs, but as we evolve so does our thinking on the solutions'

President of Building SMART MENA & India, Tahir Sharif mentioned 'Building SMART's mission is to bring about coordinated change to improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability in the construction and facilities management industry.  It will do this by promoting, adapting and improving open standards for interoperability in the global building and facilities management industry. Using these open standards buildings and services can be improved by the creation and adoption of tools and standards that allow projects to be built electronically before they are built physically using Building Information Modelling (BIM). Smart Build 2011 is an ideal opportunity for regional and international urban planners, building services specialists and solution providers to make progress with building smart cities of the future'

Smart Build 2011 is a building services conference with a separate focus day and workshops taking place in Dubai on 12-15 June 2011 that will enable creation of intelligent city building services with optimised energy and resource capabilities.  The event is industry-lead, and endorsed by the UAE Business Council for Sustainable Development, sustainable knowledge partner with Masdar City, Abu Dhabi and knowledge partner with the Building SMART Alliance.

Smart Build features presentations about the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and how smart urban planning for sustainable development can be achieved, and sessions about the DEWA Green Building Regulation, UPC's Estidama and case studies and pilot projects from Masdar City, The Pearl Dubai, DEWA, Louvre Museum, Saadiyat Island, Sun and Sky Towers, Cleveland Clinic, Pixel Building and Project Pandora Australia.

Smart Build 2011 will enable government, project owners, architects, designers, building services and MEP consultants, contractors and building services solution providers to meet, benchmark and discuss the challenges present in Middle East city buildings. Improved building services are essential for delivery of regional development plans and creation of cutting-edge cities of the future; that will stand the test of time.
