Manara Developments, a Bahrain-based developer, has awarded a $4 million (Dh14.6m) reclamation works contract to international contractor Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company and officially appointed it to carry out the reclamation works on the Wahat Al Muharraq project in Bahrain.
Manara was established by Al Salam Bank Bahrain and strategic investors from the GCC.
Dr Hasan Al Bastaki, Manara's MD, said: "Work on the project is under way and reclamation works are expected to be completed in about three months."
The deal involves hydraulic reclamation of the 170,000 sq m project being developed in the Muharraq waterfront area.
