More than 530,000 barrels of gas condensates were produced daily in Iran in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2013), said managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
Ahmad Qalehbani said once the new phase of South Pars becomes operational, the figure will reach 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the current year. He put the current oil production capacity of the country at 4 million bpd.
The official also said Iran has the capacity to produce 700 million cubic meters of gas per day and the figure is expected to reach 100 million cubic meters by the end of the current Iranian year.
"The early production of North Azadegan Oilfield and the development of South Pars phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are among the most important objectives to be pursued by South Pars in the current year," he said.
Qalehbani noted that NIOC has signed a large number of agreements on development of Kish, Forouz B and Farzad A gas fields and Kohmond, Kaki and Boshgan oilfields, as well as NGL 3100 and 3200 last year.
