Dubai: Prizes offered during this year's edition of Dubai Shopping Festival are expected to reach Dh100 million as retailers across the city are witnessing an increase in consumer spending spurred by promotions and offers.
Ebrahim Saleh, Coordinator General of the DSF office said that the value of prizes offered during DSF - given the economic challenges - signified the fact that the retail industry was focused on providing consumers some of the best value-added deals in recent years.
"Raffle draws are an integral part of the core characteristics of DSF - shopping, winning, and entertainment - and they are integral to the retail sector in attracting a diverse and larger section of shoppers from around the world," said Saleh.
Since the first shopping festival edition in 1996, prizes worth Dh1.2 billion have been given away by the DSF office.
