Dubai A taxi driver denied hugging, kissing and fondling a boy while dropping him off from school to his residence in the Burj Khalifa , a court heard yesterday.

Prosecutors accused the 26-year-old Pakistani of repeatedly molesting the 13-year-old British boy on the journey.

“No sir… I am not guilty. I did not molest him and I didn’t even touch him,” S.F. said at the Dubai Court of First Instance before Presiding Judge Mohammad Majid Mohammad.

According to the charges, prosecutors said the Pakistani defendant repeatedly fondled, hugged and kissed the Briton on his cheeks and lips. Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Ali Saeed asked the court to implement the toughest punishment applicable against S.F., who could be facing three to 15 years in jail if found guilty under article 356 of the Federal Penal Law.

Records said when the schoolboy stepped out of the taxi, he took photographs of the number plate before he reported the alleged sexual assault to his father’s friend.

Presiding Judge Mohammad adjourned the case until the suspect presents his written defence on December 26.

During the prosecution’s questioning, the boy testified: “I left school around 3.30pm. I stopped a taxi and asked him to drop me at the Burj Khalifa . I got into the front passenger’s seat near the driver.

“During the ride, the suspect put his arm around my shoulders and tried to strike a conversation with me, but I couldn’t understand him. He stopped when we reached the building.

“He me that told in his country, friends kiss on the cheeks and then he kissed me… he said relatives kiss on the chin and he kissed my chin. Then he said people close to each other kiss on the lips and he did so.”

Records said S.F. repeatedly fondled the boy and kissed him.

Then S.F. gave the boy his contact number and asked him to call him if he ever needed a taxi ride.

The boy’s father confirmed his son’s statement.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Ali Saeed asked the court to implement the toughest punishment applicable against S.F., who could be facing three to 15 years in jail if found guilty.
