Two suspects arrested for dealing in unlicensed products for muscle growth

Dubai Police have issued a warning about the increased use of unlicensed hormonal enhancement treatments among youth, which poses a high health risk.

The call came after two suspects were arrested for promoting these products in Dubai.

Investigators from the Department for Combating Economic Crimes at Dubai Police arrested two suspects for dealing in unlicensed treatments for sexual enhancement and muscle growth.

The powder-like products and injections were found by the investigators while inspecting the suspects’ accommodation.

The products were stored in a random unhygienic manner, said Major Salah Juma Bu Osaiba, Director of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes. In a media statement, Major General Khamis Matter Al Mazeina, Acting Chief of Dubai Police, said there is a noticeable increase among the youth in the use of hormonal enhancement treatments.

“The wrong usage of these treatments is a major health risk,” he said.

“We urge the public not to fall for false claims and promises. People who illegally traffic these items are in it for easy profit making,” said Maj. Gen. Al Mazeina.

Police acted upon a tip-off from a source at the beginning of this month that a person was dealing in steroids and hormonal enhancements illegally.

An undercover police officer met with him and arranged to buy a large quantity of the product.

Upon arresting him, police found large quantities in his car and apartment.
