Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued a law setting up the Presidential Flight Authority (PFA) .
Under the new law, the PFA will be a corporate body with full administrative and financial autonomy to achieve its goals. The PFA replaces the Emiri Flight and will acquire all its assets, rights and commitments.
The PFA will have its headquarters in Abu Dhabi City and the Executive Council may set up branches and offices in the UAE.
According to the law, the PFA will be chaired by a board of directors with a minimum of five and a maximum of seven members, including the board chairman.
The meetings of the board of directors will be considered as valid with the presence of most members who will include the chairman or his deputy.
The sessions will be behind closed doors and may be announced only with the approval of the chairman.
Decisions by the board of directors will be based on the vote of the majority. In the event of a parity of votes, the chairman will cast the deciding vote.
