Dubai, 27 March 2013: The GEMS Education signed a sponsorship agreement with the Princess Haya Award for Special Education (PHASE) to contribute in the symposium organized by Princess Haya Award for Special Education scheduled on 22nd and 23rd of April 2013 in the Dubai Knowledge Village.

At the signing ceremony, Founder and Chairman of GEMS Education, Sunny Varkey said: "It is crucial to adopt an inclusive approach to all members of society when it comes to education because all can contribute in a meaningful way. Our support to the Princess Haya Award for Special Education reflects our commitment to special needs practices in education,"

Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of the Award's Executive Committee, praised the GEMS Education's consistent support and its efficient participation in the field of special education in the UAE.

Noteworthy that Princess Haya Award for Special Education will host a symposium under the slogan "Breaking Boundaries, Creating Excellence" to highlight and discuss the latest research and practices in the field of special education.

The Symposium is a two-day event takes place on 22nd - 23rd April at the Dubai Knowledge Village, featuring renowned speakers in their respective fields. The keynote speakers represent top universities and institutions from the US, leading the way in research, diagnosis, and intervention.

Launched in November 2009, Princess Haya Award for Special Education (PHASE) is the first initiative of its kind in the region. It targets the role models in the special needs sector through various categories according to high international standards. The initiative also aims to encourage people working in the special needs to excel and set higher service standards in all fields of special education.
