SAUDI ARABIA has warned its nationals fighting in Syria that they will be arrested when they return home.
Involvement in the Syrian crisis is against Saudi laws, said an interior ministry spokesman. He said authorities will also crack down on those planning to travel to Syria to join the fighting there, adding that some Saudis who joined the Syrian conflict had already fought for al Qaeda outside the kingdom. The warning follows recent reports in the Saudi press about the deaths of Saudi fighters in Syria. International news agencies have reported that hundreds of Saudi youngsters have entered Syria via Turkey and Jordan to fight.
