On the Sidelines of the National Career Exhibition and International Education Show

The UAE Ministry of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Expo Center Sharjah.  The signing took place on Monday on the sidelines of the 13th International Education Show, held under patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The Show continues from February 15-17 and coincides with the National Career Exhibition.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Marwan Ahmad Al Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Academic Affairs; and H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter. The event was attended by high ranking officials from both sides.

The MoU aims to introduce students to the academic and professional opportunities in the UAE, where both parties will work on raising students’ awareness, and enable them to take sound academic decision which pave the road for their professional future. Further, the MoU aims to link families and guardians to higher education institutions, so they are informed about educational offerings and opportunities in the country. Additionally, the MoU will help fostering the relationship between the Ministry of Education and other education-related institutions in the UAE.

For his part, H.E. Marwan Al Sawaleh expressed his delight for signing the MoU. He explained that it helps identifying career opportunities for students and their guardians, as well as linking these opportunities to their interests and academic capabilities. Students will be able to choose the specializations that best suit the future needs of the national market, which guarantees best professional future for graduates.

He also commended the significant role played by Expo Center Sharjah in supporting educational progress by offering its venues for related events that provide community with the required scientific and cultural needs.

Additionally, he explained that the International Education Show represent a vital platform that provides academic guidance for students. Based on its educational plans, the Ministry of Education is striving to unite visions and practices throughout the educational cycle. This aims to address the sustainable development needs in the country. To realize this end, the Ministry is attracting best available capabilities and linking it to the needs of the students based on the national agenda and the UAE Vision 2021.

Commenting on this, HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa noted that this MoU will help advancing the education in the UAE. “Quality education is pivotal to development and first step towards a bright future for next generations;” Al Midfa added.

On a relevant note, the National Career Exhibition is being organized in collaboration with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS). The UAE Armed Forces is the Platinum Sponsor, while Sharjah Islamic Bank and Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation are the Golden Sponsors. The International Education Show will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Ajman University of Science and Technology, with the support of SCCI.

The National Career Exhibition is hosting over 70 governmental and private entities. As it has become one of the most important events on the national events agenda, the exhibition attracts young Emiratis looking for job opportunities that suit their capabilities.

On the other hand, the International Education Show will host over 100 local, regional, and international educational institution including universities, colleges, and higher education institutions.

Among the key national institutions participating in the exhibition are: Emirates Aviation University, Fujairah University, and Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University. Many other notable institutions are taking part in the event including Cromwell- UK, Future Abroad, University of Calgary, Waltrow University, Heriot Watt University, Sunway University, My Inspiration- Malaysia, Joramco Academy, First City University College, and Education Institute- Malaysia.

The exhibition also features many important participations that will enrich the education cycle, and fosters the UAE position on regional and international levels. The event will provide integrated educational ecosystem with multiple purposeful programs and training courses. It will also provide professional development programs and seminars that will be hosted by various participating institution.
