Etisalat first to introduce 3G services in Afghanistan
Etisalat, through its arm Etisalat Afghanistan, has launched the first 3G services in Afghanistan. This achievement comes only after four years of the launch of Etisalat Afghanistan.The company offers mobile services and is ranked number one in building the best networks in Afghanistan.
It acquires a customer's base of more than 3.5 million active subscribers in less than three years since launch.
Afghanistan's CIT Minister Amir Zai Sangin, Finance Minister Omar Zakhilwal and high-level government officials were also present.
He added: "The launch of the 3G by Etisalat marks an evolution in mobile communications and significant progress only made possible through a strong public-private partnership. We would like to congratulate Chairman ATRA Abdul Wakil Shergul and Amir Zai Sangin, Afghan minister of communications and IT, for their vision, which has led to achieving this important milestone as well for their continuous support provided to Etisalat to partner in the development of Afghanistan."
Alhosani added: "Etisalat has always pioneered impressive series of telecommunications and industry first services and products in a challenging environment."
