KUWAIT, May 14 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Dive Team affiliated to the Environmental Voluntary Foundation (EVF) stressed keenness on enhancing environmental awareness and the spirit of volunteerism of all society segments inside Kuwait and abroad.

Head of the Environmental Voluntary Foundation (EVF) diving team Waleed Al-Fadhel said on Monday that 2012-2013 strategy, future programs and plans of the foundation were discussed in the annual EVF meeting late Sunday.

The meeting tackled the approved work values and operational plans of EVF for this year, including spreading the message of the foundation locally and abroad.

The main target of the team is to protect and save Kuwaiti marine environment through implementing major projects, head of environmental projects of the team, Mahmoud Ashkanani said.

He talked about the projects meant to be implemented this year including cultivation of coral colonies and ceremonial sites, launching the team's environmental films, besides others.

Founder and Head of "Kuwait the Oasis" team Khalid Al-Klaib said that the message of the team is to expand the green squares in the country.

The team is working to create connections with a number of local and international groups of the same values.

He mentioned the future plans of the team for this year, and of top importance continuing maintenance of the current three oases. EVF member Dalal Al-Se'eid said that the new slogan of the foundation is presenting the main components of the environment, namely water and plants.

EVF is a group of volunteers who are working to achieve programs, initiatives and projects of further protection to Kuwaiti environment, and working to convey the message of the foundation for the local and international communities, team member for cultural affairs Salwa Al-Asfar told KUNA.
