Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar's first private bank, is pleased to announce a large number of Qatari entrepreneurs and SME owners have visited the Commercial Bank stand at the Grand Hyatt during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW).

Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, and with Qatar Development Bank as host organisation, GEW Qatar provides aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable knowledge needed to realise their goals and fosters awareness of the rewards of entrepreneurship among Qatar's youth. After five days of presentations, workshops, pitches, networking events and competitions held in variety of locations in Doha, GEW Qatar successfully came to a conclusion.

Commercial Bank, as Qatar Development Bank's partner bank for the Al Dhameen Programme, participated at GEW to support entrepreneurs and SME owners by providing information on financing through the Portfolio Programme. The Al Dhameem Programme supports Qatari SMEs with overcoming obstacles to funding due to a short credit history, and facilitates financing procedures for key sectors such as industry, education, healthcare and added-value services.

Commercial Bank EGM Chief Consumer and Private Banking Mr. Dean Proctor said: "Commercial Bank is proud to participate at such an important event for Qatari entrepreneurs and SME owners, and we were delighted with their response to the Commercial Bank stand during GEW Qatar. Through the Al Dhameem Programme in partnership with Qatar Development Bank, Commercial Bank is providing funding to create and grow new Qatari SMEs that are needed to strengthen the private sector, diversify Qatar's economy and help achieve the National Vision 2030."

Mr. Proctor added: "Commercial Bank enjoys a close relationship with Qatar Development Bank through the Al Dhameem Programme, and I congratulate Qatar Development Bank on their success as host organisation for GEW Qatar."
