AMMAN -- Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met with Chairman of the Jordan Bromine Company Jamal Saraireh and Deputy Chairman and Executive Director General of Albemarle Corporation Luke Kissam.

During the meeting, the premier was briefed on the activities of the companies, which are developers of speciality chemicals. The Arab Potash Company owns 50 per cent of the Jordan Bromine Company, while Albemarle owns the other half.

Saraireh said his company is currently working to expand production and create new job opportunities, noting that the firm exports bromine to 30 countries.

Ensour underlined the government's support for the company, stressing the need to maximise the benefits of exploiting Dead Sea minerals.
