EmiratesGBC to highlight green roofing technologies that promote energy efficiency at industry networking event
Dubai, UAE; September 30, 2012: Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices in the UAE, will host a networking event to discuss innovative green roofing solutions that contribute to sustainable built environments, on October 2, 2012 at The Address Dubai Mall hotel in Downtown Dubai.
The two-hour event, sponsored by Dow Chemical Company, will kick off with a discussion led by Joseph Rokowski, Elastomeric Roof Coatings Group Leader at the Research & Development Department of Dow Construction Chemical in North America. He will demonstrate effective solutions that contribute to promoting green construction in the Middle East. His presentation will be supported by case studies of projects undertaken in various geographies.
Adnan Sharafi, EmiratesGBC Chairman said: "There is a growing interest in green roofs which play an integral role in driving energy efficiencies. This has strengthened demand for advanced roof coating technology. Our networking event puts the spotlight on this important aspect that will enable our industry players to further engage with all interested in sustainable built environments leading to the sustainability goals of the UAE. EmiratesGBC is committed to providing robust platforms for all stakeholders in the industry supply chain to share best practices."
The EmiratesGBC networking event is open to both members and non-members of the Council. Members have to pay AED 50, and non-members AED 150. Interested participants can email their interest to: events@emiratesgbc.org.

The Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) was founded in June 2006, and became the 8th full member of the World Green Building Council in September 2006. EmiratesGBC is an organization that promotes and educates on green issues in the built environment and is the official body for the UAE endorsed by the World Green Building Council.
