Dubai to send sms on traffic laws to Saudi tourists

The Dubai Tourism Board is considering to educate Saudi tourists on traffic laws in the UAE following violations by Saudi drivers, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.
"The board is looking forward to notify Saudi tourists via text message about traffic rules when entering into the UAE territories," said Hamad bin Mejren, executive director of Business Tourism, in Dubai.
This step comes following the Saudi Embassy's interference to settle the issue of traffic law violations by Saudi tourists in Abu Dhabi during the last two months.
Mejren said that the issue will not affected tourist flow into Dubai. "The number of violators was very limited," he added. He confirmed that Dubai ranked first on premier tourist destinations list for Saudis. "More than 1,128,000 Saudis visited Dubai last year, a 28 percent increase from 2011", he said.
