To be held under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority

More than 200 delegates are expected to attend the event

Dubai - UAE: Monday, 20 February 2012 - Green Aviation and Logistics Group Middle East (GALG ME), in association with Arabian Reach and Media Sultan group, will organize the 2nd edition of the "Green Aviation and Logistics Conference (GALC 2012) in Dubai this week.

The conference will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority on February 22-23, 2012 at Dusit Thani Hotel, Dubai.

Slated to be two-days of intense brainstorming sessions, GALC 2012 will highlight how environmental sustainability has become a critical strategic planning issue as international trade and supply chains become more global. The conference will also bring to light the competitiveness and cost-savings that can be achieved by making sustainability a business priority for aviation and logistics sector as well as propose solutions to move it on to a sustainable path.

The last edition of the Green Aviation and Logistics Conference was held in 2011 at Zayed University, in Dubai, and was attended by industry professionals. The event brought significant media and industry attention with the high attendance from government as well as private sector.

Dr. Khaled Al Mazroui, Chairman of GALG ME, said: "The modern aviation and logistics industry plays an important role in promoting economic development. However, it also has serious adverse effects on the environment. It is estimated that transport consumes about 19% of the world energy supply and produces about 23% of the carbon emissions."

"Through this conference GALG ME group seeks to engage as many companies as possible from aviation and logistics industry to show them how to turn rising fuel and energy costs, and increasingly stringent rules and regulations into opportunities to reduce their bottom line, and gain a competitive advantage over those who are not as well prepared," he added.

GALC 2012 is expected to attract an audience of 200 participants, including key aviation and logistics industry decision makers; government officials; regulatory bodies; green equipment suppliers, service providers and technology strategists, law enforcement agencies, fuel providers, waste-management firms, and researchers from the middle east region and beyond.

This event is supported by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, Green Aviation Council, Middle East Aerospace Consortium and Fujairah International Airport.

Bayanat Airports Engineering and Supplies, ENOC and EGM are associated with the event as sponsors.
