Leverages Understanding of Regional Technology Sector to Draw Investments to High-Tech Park

Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) is leveraging its participation at Hannover Messe Germany 2012, the world's leading technology event, to showcase the hi-tech ecosystem and enabling environment offered by Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park.
Organised by Deutsche Messe AG, the event that began today will run until 27 April at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds gathering over 4,200 companies from 70 countries. Showcasing technological innovations, the event focuses on trends and solutions for sustainable industrial production. The 2012 edition emphasises on sectors such as industrial green technology, supply, research, technology, automation and digital factor among others.
Exhibiting at stand D-10 in Hall No. 13 as part of the UAE Pavilion, the DSOA delegation is additionally highlighting the growing opportunities within the region and leveraging its rich understanding of the technology sector to draw investments from global hi-tech companies participating at the event.
Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Executive Vice-President of Business Development at DSOA, said: "Since its inception, Hannover Messe has been regarded a key platform for featuring ground-breaking innovations. In 2011, the Hannover Messe exhibited over 5,000 innovations from 70 countries drawing more than 230,000 visitors including 120 international business delegations. Over 2,460 journalists including 347 international media covered the five-day exhibition that generated €50 billion in investments.
A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronics-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and research and development divisions in the Middle East and Africa region.
