Dubai Refreshments Company kicks-off construction on AED 500 M state of the art plant.
DRC launches construction on its Greenfield project with inauguration ceremony.
Dubai, 22ndApril 2012 - Dubai Refreshments Company P.S.C. ( DRC ) - the sole franchisee, manufacturer, and distributor of Pepsi-Cola products in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has a long standing reputation as a locally owned company with deep roots in the region and the UAE community.
Today DRC has reached a new milestone with the construction kick off ceremony this morning at 11:00. DRC 's top management, including Mr. Mana Al Mulla - Managing Director, Tarek El Sakka - General Manager and Neeraj Vohra - Chief Financial Officer attended the ceremony. This was in addition to the senior management team at System Construct, represented by Mr.Fadi Chehabeddine - Managing Director and Mr. Mohamed Khattab - Sales Manager.
System construct is the main contractingcompanyappointed by DRC to develop the project.It is a General Contracting Company specialized in turnkey construction of industrial, commercial and residential buildings that have been warranted with the highest classification in the emirate's construction industry and has been awarded the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificates.
The ceremony took place on the ground at the Greenfield site at Dubai Investment Park (DIP), where DRC has chosen to build the 140,000 sq m bottling plant. DIP hosts a vast infrastructure and utilities network, an ideal location for a pioneering development such as Greenfields. The plant will raise the bar on environmentally friendlypractices within manufacturing plants and warehouses by adopting global conservation standards.Mr. Mana Al Mulla comments: "We are overjoyed to witness the beginning of construction on our most innovative project to date. Greenfields is set to be one of the largest bottling plants in the MENA region, with acapacity to produce up to120 million cases annually, all housed within a safe, eco-friendly design and performed within strict environmental guidelines. Greenfields serves to illustrate DRC 's dedication to the growth of local and regional markets, in addition to our commitment to environmental preservation"
The Greenfields project is set for completion by 2013. This is considered a major step forward in implementing DRC strategy of providing great value and choice to its customers in the UAE and in over 25 countries worldwide.
