Agency seeks to redeploy buses on other areas based on traffic
Dubai: From today three inter-city bus routes have been abolished, according to a statement from the Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority.
Route 301: From Al Rashidiya Metro Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Station in Sharjah, Route 308: From Jebel Ali Metro Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Station in Sharjah, and Route 309: From Al Quoz Industrial Area and Al Waha Village to Al Jubail Station in Sharjah, will no longer operate.
Mohammad Abu Bakr Al Hashemi, Director of Business Development, Public Transport Agency, RTA, said: Among the other key factors prompting the Agency to carry out regular revision of the inter-city bus routes, is that it has been well established that the demand for these three routes is minimal compared to other routes; which warranted taking necessary action to redeploy buses on other routes based on the demand.
