Dubai-UAE: 27 April, 2016

Dubai Industrial Park, a designated district within Dubai Wholesale City is marking an emphatic participation at Hannover Messe 2016, the world's biggest industrial fair, running from April 25 and April 29. The leading manufacturing, logistics and food hub in the GCC region is showcasing its fully integrated business and investor-friendly offerings which address the needs of the local and international trading sector.

Hannover Messe is held on an annual basis, covering all areas of industrial technology from industrial supply, research and development, industrial automation, IT, production technology and services to energy and mobility technologies, all under one roof. Last year, the fair attracted 6,200 exhibitors and 250,000 visitors. The first edition of the event took place in 1947 in the town of Laatzen south of Hannover.

Dubai Wholesale City is marking its presence as part of the UAE's official delegation to the German trade event, in which 10 UAE government bodies and 30 companies are participating. This year's event was inaugurated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in the presence of US President Barack Obama.

Speaking on the event, Abdulla Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Wholesale City, said: "We are pleased to participate in Hannover Messe for the first time as part of the UAE's official delegation. The fair is a fantastic platform for us to interact with an international audience and showcase Dubai Wholesale City's comprehensive offerings including state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern warehousing, storage facilities and support services which ensure efficiency and boost ease of doing business."

Dubai Wholesale City is the region's first fully integrated wholesale trading cluster and primary one-stop shop for a complete range of wholesale products, spanning an area of over 550 million square feet. The city services strategic sectors - food, construction materials, electrical appliances, electronics, furniture and decoration, machinery and equipment, wood, vehicles and spare parts and textiles and clothing.

Dubai Wholesale City caters to these sectors through its comprehensive value offerings. This feature makes the new development a unique venture addressing the needs of dynamic wholesale as well as manufacturing businesses in the region.

Belhoul added: "Dubai Wholesale City has adopted an innovative and holistic approach to the wholesale market, through specialized integrated trading parks, international trade exhibition facilities, country pavilions and ecommerce trade platform. Over the next few years, we look to establish ourselves as the world's leading wholesale trading hub, which in turn will strengthen the UAE' position as a key market in global trade."

Dubai Wholesale City looks to become home to more than 15,000 wholesale traders and attract more than 10 million visitors annually. The city aims to serve as a key contributor to the UAE's economic diversification strategy and will be critical in further enhancing the UAE's role as a global leader in international trade.

Dubai Wholesale City is featuring one of its key designated districts - Dubai Industrial Park - at the fair. Dubai Industrial Park has over 680 business partners. The strategic location and integrated services and offering make it the ideal place to cater to various sectors including food, transport equipment and parts, machinery and mechanical equipment, logistics, chemicals, mineral products and base metals.

Dubai Industrial park facilitates operational synergies through the co-location of similar industries and provides industrial land for self-build, pre-fabricated warehouses for logistics and light industrial use, as well as labor accommodation, office space, retail showrooms, and on-site assistance with startup and operational services.
