To step up implementation of an upgrading plan at Bandar Abbas oil refinery, €50 million will be injected into the project, Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOEC) Farhad Ahmadi said.
Ahmadi told the Oil Ministry's website, Shana, that if the fund is provided soon, it will help procurement of a great part of equipment needed for the advancement of the project.
Referring to 74 percent progress of the project, Ahmadi added 85 percent of the equipment have been provided and it is hoped the remaining parts to be met as well by allocating new funds so that equipment will be available for completion of the project.
The NIOEC chief also said that upgrading plan of Bandar Abbas oil refinery was the third Mehr Mandegar (Lasting Kindness) project being implemented by the company expressing hope that the project goes on schedule, like development plans of Shahid Tondgouyan and Shazand oil refineries.
Development plan of Bandar Abbas oil refinery includes four projects comprising of rising gasoline production, development of oil products export and import system of the refinery, construction of new docks and rising production capacity.
Processing capacity of Bandar Abbas oil refinery rose by 90,000 barrels per day in July 2008 hitting 320 thousand barrels per day.
