Damascus - Members of Damascus Chamber of Commerce held a meeting on Monday with Director-General of InvestHK (Department of Foreign Direct Investment of Hong Kong) Simon Galpin and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on potential fields and mechanisms of cooperation in investment and trade between the two sides.

Member of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Abu al-Huda al-Lahham underlined Syria's growing relations with Hong Kong and China and the marked increase in trade exchange with each passing years.

For his part, Galpin reviewed the available investment opportunities that Hong Kong companies can participate in, noting that Hong Kong is becoming a center for foreign companies and that it has independent laws that allow it to attract international companies, while the free trade agreement signed with China allows for freedom of movement for goods and company services.
