DED Chairman praises the successful experience of Singapore
Abu Dhabi, 9th May 2012 (WAM) -- Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi ( DED ), welcomed Lee Yi Shyan, Singaporean Minister of State for Trade and Industry, today and discussed with him ways of increasing bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
A particular emphasis was the Singaporean experience in achieving outstanding success on the international level and the many lessons that learnt throughout the various stages of its development, During the meeting, the level of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of developing these relations to broader horizons, especially in the fields of trade and investment were also discussed. Al Suwaidi gave a comprehensive presentation on the economic plans and future development projects of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and also shed light on the Emirate’s economic achievements during the recent years. He stated that the economy of Abu Dhabi is able to maintain its growth and prosperity, consolidating its position as one of the strongest economies in the region. The emirate was able to achieve positive growth rates over the past years despite the difficult economic conditions experienced worldwide. The Singaporean Minister praised the outstanding achievements made by UAE, which attained a prestigious position at the regional and international level, and became a role model for other countries of the region in achieving comprehensive economic development.
