Cisco Appoints Mike Weston as Vice President for Middle East and Turkey
Cisco Bolsters Leadership to Drive Regional Opportunities and Growth
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - October 6th, 2013: Cisco today announced the appointment of Mike Weston as Vice President (VP) for its Middle East and Turkey operations. This newly created role reinforces Cisco 's commitment to and confidence in the region, which represents a significant global growth opportunity for the company. Weston's responsibilities will encompass Cisco 's business operations across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Gulf, Levant and Turkey. He will report directly to Duncan Mitchell, Cisco 's Senior Vice President for the Emerging Theater.
Weston joins Cisco after more than 14 years with strategic partner, IBM and brings a wealth of experience in three areas critical to Cisco 's future success in the region - data center, software and services. He has significant knowledge and understanding of how to lead successful business operations in both major and growth geographical markets. Mike has a real passion for customer success, which will be his primary focus.
At IBM, Weston held the position of VP since 2007, most recently as VP, Global ITS Sales for the Global Technical Services division. He also worked in the company's Software Group Division. Prior to IBM, Weston held a Data Centre senior leadership position for a large financial institution in the United Kingdom, before moving into software sales with CA. He began his career as a professional football player for Coventry City in the United Kingdom. He has worked and lived in Dubai, UAE for the last five years with his wife and two children.
