Dubai Dewan Architects and Engineers has been awarded the design for Akwaan Properties’ “Akwaan Retail Centre” project in Riyadh. The Centre, first of Akwaan’s Retail Lifestyle Centers series, has a total built-up area of 8,500 square metres.

Two new vessels in Adnoc group fleet
Abu Dhabi Adnatco, a shipping arm of the Adnoc Group of Companies, yesterday took delivery of two new bulk carriers at the Hyundai MIPO Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea. M.V. Umm Ad Dalkh and Arrilah-I, both 37,000 metric tonnes deadweight, Handy Size Bulk Carriers, will carry bulk cargoes for Adnoc group companies.

France-UAE Rafale talks advancing
Saint-Dizier French Def-ence Minister Alain Juppe said yesterday talks with the UAE and Brazil over possible orders of French Rafale jet fighters were advancing. “We’re advancing with the UAE because negotiations have resumed,” Juppe said. Talks froze in mid-2010 over a newspaper article that fanned sensitivities in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Mothers who are medically insured by Daman’s Enhanced Plans will automatically extend their insure to their newborn babies, free of charge, the company said yesterday. The babies’ insurance will only expire with the mothers’ insurance plan.
