Bin Fahad honours winners of 17th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Excellence Awards
Dubai, 22nd May 2012 (WAM) -- Dr. Ahmed Rashid Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, presented awards to the winners The chief guest for the event H.E. Dr. Ahmed Rashed Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, presented the awards to the winners of the 17th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Excellence awards in the presence of prominent figures, VIPs, CIOs and decision makers from government, business and international institutions.
The achievers were honoured at a high profile awards ceremony at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai which was organized by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute. These awards honored some of the most outstanding achievements of innovators, developers and experts who are revolutionizing the eGovernment systems in the region. The UAE won three accolades : eCitizen and eParticipation Excellence Awards, Best Use of ICT Excellence Award and Mobile Application Development Excellence Award. In his welcome message Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director, Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, said, "eGovernments have become the focus of public sector reforms; an instrument to increase efficiency, strengthen competitiveness and enhance modernization transforming regional governance and ushering in innovation in the back office. ''This event aims to recognize noteworthy achievements in eGovernment and eServices, and encouraging new ways to address the ever-changing needs of customers in the region," he added. The winners of the 2012, 17th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Excellence Awards: Best Project Award – e-ambassador system, Ministry of Higher Education – KSA. Women’s IT Skills Development Excellence Award – Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University. Information and Knowledge Portal Excellence Award – Al Jazeera.net. eCitizen and eParticipation Excellence Awards – Ministry of Foreign Affairs – UAE.e-Initiative Excellence Award – Human Right's Commission – KSA.
eBusiness Portal Excellence Award – Saudi Post. e-Portal Excellence Award – Public Pension Agency – KSA. Best Use of ICT Excellence Award – Dubai Courts.
