MUSCAT -- In its continuing endeavour to recruit top talent to meet its growth ambitions, Bank Sohar participated in a Career Fair hosted by the Middle East College of Information Technology (MECIT) at its Rusayl campus recently.

Oman's flagship technology park, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), where MECIT's modern campus is located, provided an interesting backdrop to the two-day fair.

As is often the case with job fairs of this kind, the event attracted a large number of graduating students -- providing rich pickings for employers like Bank Sohar who look for bright young minds to join their expanding workforce.

Representing Bank Sohar at the Career Fair was a resource team comprising of volunteers drawn from the Bank's Human Resources, Information Technology and the Emerging Corporate Business Departments.

They were on hand to meet and interact with the students, provide information about Bank Sohar's portfolio of products and services, and address all kinds of queries about career opportunities at one of Oman's youngest and most promising financial institutions.

Commenting on the bank's participation in the event, Munira Abdulnabi Macki (pictured), DGM-Human Resources and Corporate Support said:

"For Bank Sohar, a presence at a Career Fair is as important as our participation in a must-attend business forum. After all, Career Fairs provide fertile ground for us to scout for young Omani self-starters from the cusp of their development into being thoroughbred professionals.

Besides this, the opportunity to interact with bright, self-driven and talented youngsters is always illuminating for us.

Already, Bank Sohar has actively participated in three job fairs so far this year, and on each occasion, the response has been tremendous,"

"As a technology and innovation-driven bank, we are very keen to recruit tech-savvy candidates with a strong financial aptitude.

As a leading provider of Information Technology programmes, MECIT's Career Fair provided a great opportunity for us to seek out talented young Omanis who share Bank Sohar's aspirations for growth and success." added Ms Macki.
