A list of 100 employees who have been serving the Bahrain Radio and TV Corporation (BRTC) on a temporary basis were permanently instated in the same positions, following a decision taken by Information Minister Dr. Muhammed Abdul Ghaffar Abdullah. The instating temporary contractual employees in their various positions has been taken to improve work conditions at the BRTC and to serve as a catalyst for further creativity and productivity after the beneficiaries will certainly feel a psychological relief for being permanently installed, the minister said.
The move also reflects the ministry's volition to upgrade Bahraini media professionals skills and develop them to get in step with media industry developments, he noted. The permanent recruitment procedures have been going on for long and the decision has been taken in coordination with the Civil Service Bureau, the minister said, adding that the mentioned employees were chosen for their long service, broad experience, assiduity, annual assessment reports and the reports produced by their seniors about their performance. He added that other employees who have not been covered this time will be considered in similar operations in the future.oking at enhancing the pensions. In the meantime, it is important for the teaching fraternity to increase their productivity. We also look forward to them increasing their service quality," he added.
"When productivity and service quality has increased we can press for increased wages as well," he added. By 2009-10 there will be more funds as the quality of source will have been enhanced. It is important to come down on the sources of wasteful expenditure. They include the subsidised gas supply to Alba - with gas price now being less than $1. Increasing the gas price alone will bring in sizeable incomes, he said.
