Manama, BIBF, Saturday, 9th August, 2014 - BIBF Deputy Director Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh recently met with the University of London's (UoL) pro Vice-chancellor (international) and Chief Executive Dr. Mary Stiasny.
The meeting, held in the United Kingdom, is aimed at strengthening cooperation in the area of academic programmes, and comes as part of BIBF's current academic expansion plans.
The topics discussed at the meeting included the implementation of an agreement signed earlier to establish BIBF as a recognised centre for the UoL international programmes, which will entitle BIBF students to a number of rewards and benefits.
"Fostering academic relationships with the most prestigious international universities is a strategic priority of the Institute," said Dr. Al-Shaikh.
"These relationships demonstrate our longstanding commitment to academic quality. Our focus is to offer specialist international programmes which meet the needs of the labour market, especially in the areas of finance, banking, and technical and managerial services for students in Bahrain and the region," he added.
Currently, BIBF offers many academic programmes in cooperation with international universities such as the University of DePaul (USA) and University of Bangor (UK).
It also provides a wide range of internationally-accredited training and vocational certification courses covering various professional business skills in cooperation with leading global institutions and associations.
